10) Hmong village – Laos
We walked around the small Hmong village in Laos and observed life for this remarkable nation. The simplicity was overwhelming and all around us children were playing. The village name may just as well have been Village of the dirty children, it reminded me of my childhood in the Icelandic countryside. The kids were playing while the grown ups worked, and when they were no longer able to work they sat in the street and watched over the kids. I watched these two, probably great-grand daughter and great-grand daughter, and saw the circle of life. Not much has changed around here for hundreds of years and probably won’t change for some time. The simplicity is inevitable because there is nothing else.
