18) Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia
When travelling the world, you see how good you have it at home. You see many societies where most people seem to be worse off, at least economically. But now and then you run into the materialistic madness we are so used to. All that money being spent on things, just because we can. Or we would like to maintain the image that we can. Taller, bigger, and more seem to be the correct adjectives for this kind of thinking and the Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur carry those words proudly. Indeed a symbol of human feat and fun to observe. But when putting things in perspective, when this photograph is compared to others taken in the same trip through five continents, one sees the madness, understands the insanity within the human race as a whole.
