2) Luang Prabang - Laos
When reaching Laos, everything changes. The time passes slowly, the heart relaxes and peace is brought on. When ordering a meal in a restaurant, you get the feeling that the waiter strolls through to wake the chef, informing him that there’s an order waiting, but he can just get to it when he awakens. When I thought the taxi from the airport was malfunctioning and stuck in the second gear, the driver asked us whether we were in a hurry. Some might find this pace of life annoying, but he I told him no, I was definitely not in a hurry. It’s a good place to relax and enjoy life. The resident monks were probably even better at it than us. We got to watch these young monks arrive at temple and chant. They had no greater project waiting, they were in no hurry and they had all the time in the world. A gift I envy them of and something that I hope to learn one day… to make time.
